Philosophy

At Polkadots, we are dedicated to fostering a warm and welcoming environment that enriches the development and learning of tamariki through play.

Connect - Tūhono

We prioritise and encourage respectful whanaungatanga (relationships) built on manaakitangna (empathy, kindness, respect) and open communication.

Our inclusive practices cultivate a strong sense of belonging, and we deeply value our close connections with whānau as well as our unique rural setting and community.

Nurture - Awhi

Our caring, engaged and skilled kaiako create a warm, safe, and fun space where tamariki can develop self-awareness and emotional intelligence.

We support tamariki to explore, be creative, and find joy in their play and relationships.

Empower - Whakamana

Tamariki are empowered to cultivate self-confidence, independence, and natural curiosity.

By fostering a love of learning, we prepare each child for school and life, enabling them to thrive on their unique journey.

Our program is founded on Te Whāriki, Aotearoa New Zealand’s Early Childhood Curriculum, and is guided by our commitment to ‘Te Tiriti o Waitangi.’
